What did you think about the State of the Union Address?

I somehow managed to miss it.

I was impressed at how the simple act of not sitting according to party changed the whole atmosphere of the speech. More somber and respectful for sure.

The speech itself was a whole lot of hot air. I'm very disappointed that he wants to freeze everything for 5 years. That's crazy talk.

And his idea for 80% of the power in the U.S. to be from "green" sources within 24 years? Another unachievable goal. If I had my way there would be 500 nuke plants under construction right now but for reasons that utterly baffle me the Dems are opposed to that. About 78% of the energy in France comes from nukes, and if they can do it so can we.

It was well constructed, beautiful to hear, and well presented, but I'd expect that from President Obama. The address was about what I expected, not bad, but not satisfying for me. Being an uber liberal I didn't expect to here what I wanted to here. I expected President Obama to take a centrist position, especially after the last deadly election cycle. competing parties. That's who he is going for and I think he was successful in reaching them.
