Supreme Court to hear case on Affirmative Action in College Admissions

Here we go again.

The Supreme Court will deal with Affirmative Action in university admissions. This is being put back on the table in an appeal from a white student who was denied a spot at University of Texas.

A new ruling could get rid of Affirmative Action is colleges.

I am very curious to see the case put forth by the lawyers.

If the student's case is based on saying her grades and test scores were allegedly better than students of color that got in, there is a flaw in that argument.

What is wrong with it is grades and test scores are NOT the only thing universities look at when admitting students.

Perhaps, U of TX's admissions department look at other factors, when considering applicants, such as: extracurricular activities, access for first-generation college students, or maybe the students that got in turned it out in their essay, or were able to show they would bring something special to the campus environment.

This is a case of sour grapes with a side-order of haterade.

Trust me, some of he white applicants that got into U of TX, got in not because of good grades or test scores, it was because of legacies and family connections.

She went through the same process of applying as everyone else. At the end of the day she didn't fully meet the criteria for admissions.

Where her constitutional rights violated? Is she the vicitim of a policy that is a form of reverse discrimination? I think not!
